Note that I am still reformatting the cemetery information. Some visual elements, such as capitalization, italics,
and the use of quotation marks, will vary from cemetery to cemetery until that reformatting has been completed.

Comments  Form E by Helen Thomas, Oct. 1978 at MHC. Her note: early burial plot of the James White family (1785-1864) and their neighbors of the Keene Road area. Some earlier fieldstones. In the 1880s Charles M. Thatcher recorded the "White Cemetery in Freetown on Long Plain Road about 2 miles from East Freetown" in his Old Cemeteries of Southeastern Massachusetts, pp. 67-68. Names of a War of 1812 veteran and three Civil War veterans recorded in History of Freetown, p. 116. Henry B. Worth (HBW) copied eleven names in Some Old Burial Grounds, 1917, p. 12. He called it the White-Keene Burial Ground, on the east of Keene Road, north of the Acushnet-Freetown line. Gravestones for the Keene family were recorded by Mrs. Wendell Presbrey (PRES), Inscriptions from Eight Cemeteries in Bristol County, Massachusetts, DAR, 1987, NEHGS, pp. 116-119. She found a number of earlier stones, including one from 1687.
