   14.   Seth (s. of Seth 12) m. Matilda D. of Stephen Whitman 1791; he was master of a fishing vessel, and was lost on the Grand Banks; she d. 1807, æ. 35.—He had Robert Jamieson, (named for a Scotch gentleman of that name, who lived with her grandfather, the Hon. Hugh Orr), Sally, and Lucy.—Robert J. m. Mercy, D. of Elisha Faxon 1814 and lives in Boston.

   15.   Capt. Branch (s. of Josiah 13) m. Anne, D. of Isaac Washburn 1802, and had Harrison Gray, Branch, Lewis, Lucia Anna, Asa Washburn, Josiah, George Henry, and Sarah.—Lucia Anna m. her cousin Marsena Whitman.

   This is the only family and Branch of the name remaining in B.   Some of these are now writing their name Byron, but the name is unquestionably Byram, and has been uniformly so spelt and written by the family themselves from Nicholas the first, down to Branch.   It is an old English name.

   CARVER.—1.   Eleazer Carver and his w. Experience settled in S. B., and had Eleazer, Nathaniel, Joseph, Experience, Mehitabel, and perhaps others.—Nathaniel m. Abigail D. of Nathaniel Allen 1736, and went to Taunton.—Experience m. Jonathan Cary 1719.—Mehitabel m. Capt. Seth Alden 1740.

   2.   Eleazar (s. of the above) and his w. Catherine of M. had Mary 1722, Eleazar 1724, Catherine 1726, Timothy 1728, Rhodolphus 1735, John 1738.—Mary m. Abraham Perkins 1743.—Catherine d. single.—Timothy removed and left no family here.—Mercy d. 1767.—Rhodolphus m. Abigail Bowman of Bedford 1763, and went to Oakham.

   3.   Joseph (s. of Eleazar 1) m. Elizabeth D. of Benjamin Snow 1725, and had Joseph 1727, Benjamin 1729, Elizabeth 1731, Sarah 1737, Experience 1739, Robert 1742, Rebecca 1744.—Some of this family removed to Scituate R. Island.—
