John Cary, Jr., m. Mary Harden 1741, and had Isaac 1742, Huldah 1744, and removed N. Jersey.Martha m. Daniel Cary 1742.Thankful m. Jonathan Orcutt of Cohasset 1766 for his 2d wife.
This man owned the grist-mill at Orr's Works, and was called Old Miller Cary. The following distich was common in after times:

Experience, D. of Eleazar Carver 1719, and had Seth 1721, Eleazar 1723, Susanna 1725, Anne 1728, Jonathan 1730, Eliphalet 1732, Experience 1734, Benjamin 1738, Jesse 1742. This family lived in S. B.Susanna m. William Hooper 1759.Anne m. the Hon. Nathan Mitchell 1754.Eliphalet (Major) m. Hannah, Wid. of Josiah Edson and sister of Thos. Lawrence, 1782, and lived to a great age, but had no children.Jonathan, the father, d. 1766; his widow, 1769.

13. Ezra (s. of Ephraim 7) m. Mary, D. of Col. John Holman, 1737, and had Sarah 1738, Shepard 1742. He removed to N. Jersey.
14. Zechariah (s. of Ephraim 7) m. Susanna, d. of Captain Jonathan Bass, 1742, and settled in N. B., and d. 1788; he had Ezra 1749, Mehitabel 1752, Susanna 1755, Daniel 1758, Luther 1761. Mehitabel m. Zachariah Silvester of Duxbury.Susanna m. Rufus Brett 1775.Ezra m. Cynthia Tolman of Stoughton 1770, and had Thomas 1771, Zechariah 1773. Thomas m. Sally, D. of Lemuel Packard, 1798.Daniel was a Major and m. Methitabel, D. of Simeon Brett, and had Zibiah 1779, Eunice 1781, Olive 1783, Francis 1785, James, Zechariah 1791.Luther, a Physician, m. a King of Raynham. These three brothers removed to Turner, Me.Zibia m. Captain Roger Sumner of Stoughton 1801.Olive m. Apollas Howard 1802, and afterward had a 2d husband in Me.
