Communicated by JOHN W. WILLARD

IN May, 1907, the writer, assisted by Messrs. Stanley W. Smith, Edward H. Whorf, Arthur E. Linnell and Arthur M. Jones, made copies of all gravestone inscriptions, prior to 1851, in the Old Cemetery on Centre St., South Duxbury, Mass.   These copies have been presented to the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants and all the genealogical facts to be found in them are given in the following abstracts.

[This transcription does not include three prominent monuments that were erected after 1851.   One is to Myles Standish and four members of his family.   Their monument was erected in 1893 following the discovery of their graves.   See Mrs. Harold P. Williams, "The Grave of Myles Standish" in The Mayflower Quarterly, 66 [2000]:208-209.   The other monuments are to John and Priscilla (Mullins) Alden, who are presumed to have been buried here.   Their monuments were erected in 1930 by the Alden Kindred of America.]
