Aug. 29, 1832, Jane Elizabeth Isabella Otis, dau. of Nathaniel W. and Nancy (Bourne) Otis.   She was b. at Matanzas, Island of Cuba, 1805, and d. in Hing. 18 Nov. 1866, æt. 61 yrs.   He d. 11 March, 1873, æt. 69 yrs.   Resided on the paternal homestead, South St., opp. Thaxter's Bridge.

   27.   DUNCAN MCBEAN7 (Samuel6-5-4-3 John2 Thomas1), b. in Hing. Jan. 12, 1772.   m. July 3, 1796, Mary Gill, dau. of John and Deborah (Lincoln) Gill.   She was b. in Hing. May 27, 1774, and d. 18 July, 1823, æt. 49 yrs.   He d. 4 Feb. 1822, æt. 50 yrs.   "Housewright;" Capt. of the Hingham Rifle Company when it was first chartered, and an enterprising and valuable citizen.

Oct. 11, 1825, Lucy, dau. of Beza Lincoln (II. 470).   She d. at Boston, 8 Nov. 1880, æt. 81 yrs.   In early life Duncan was a school-teacher in Hing.   He has since been an officer in two or more banking institutions.   Resides at Boston.   Duncan d. at Somerville, Mass., 28 Aug. 1888, æt. 91 yrs. (3:370)   His s. Dr. Duncan McBean Thaxter, Jr., was grad. at Har. Coll. 1847, and d. at Boston, 17 Nov. 1873, æt. 45 yrs.

Sept. 15, 1788, and d. 7 Aug. 1813, æt. 25th yr.   He m. secondly, Aug. 30, 1817, Susan Joy Thaxter, sister of his first w.   She was b. in Hing Aug. 2, 1791, and d. 3 Dec. 1837, æt. 46 yrs.   He d. 29 July, 1841, æt. 57 yrs.   "Trader."   Resided on Main, near Elm St.
