   DANIEL,² the Town Clerk (II. p. 151 : 2).   For a short period, i. e. during the administration of Edmond Andros as Governor, the office of town clerk was abolished, and Nathaniel Beal was appointed "Clark of the Register of Births, Marriages and Deaths in Hingham."   This continued until under the new charter, when, March 28, 1693, Daniel was again chosen town clerk.
