   Ephraim H.,7, the father, married 2nd wife, Laura Peterson of Duxbury, Apr. 23rd, 1871.   He was at one time a member of the board of selectmen.




AMES OR EAMES.

   The Eames of olden time has been changed in recent years to Ames.   The E being dropped.
   Capt. Anthony Eames of Marshfield, born, it is thought, in Dorset, England, about 1595-6, d. in 1686.   Mar., it is thought, Margery — in England.


   Lieut. Mark Eames,2 their son, was b. probably in England about 1620, d. at Marshfield in 1693.   Mar. May 26, 1648, at Hingham, Elizabeth —.


   Jonathan,3 their son (Mark,2 Capt. Anthony,1) b. at Marshfield about 1655-6, d. at Marshfield in 1724.   Mar. in 1682, Hannah Trouant of Marshfield.
