"John Rogers of the Town of Boston . . . . Marchant . . . . one whole Share or Portion of land granted unto John Washborn as an Ancient Servant, At Saconet or Elsewhere as may Appear by the Records of the Court of Plimouth bearing Date June 1662 with all & singuler the priviledges & Appurtenances to the same grant belonging"
The deed was dated 1 April, 1700, and was signed by John Washborn, Thomas Washborn, Joseph Washborn, Samuel Washborn, Jonathan Washborn, James Washborn, Samuel Kingsley, Mary Kingsley (by a mark), "Eliza. Sele widow" (by a mark), "John Ames Junr", Sarah Ames (by a mark). The witnesses were Nathaniel Willis, who signed by a mark, and Elihu Brett, Jr. The deed was acknowledged by all the grantors on 15 April, 1702, and was recorded 8 March, 1702/3.

SAMUEL1 PACKARD'S WILL

SAMUEL1 PACKARD of Bridgewater made his will 29 October, 1684, and he died 7 November, 1684, according to a statement made by the appraisers of his estate. The will and inventory were recorded in the Plymouth Colony Wills and Inventories, IV: II: 96 et seq.
An exhaustive abstract of the will is printed at this time because of the close connection between the Packard and Washburn families of Bridgewater.
Samuel1 Packard's daughter Deborah2 Packard married Samuel Washburn4 (Elizabeth Mitchell3, Jane2 Cooke, Francis1), and her sister Deliverance2 Packard married Thomas Washburn4 (Elizabeth Mitchell3, Jane2 Cooke, Francis1), two Packard sisters marrying two Washburn brothers.
Another connection of the two families, one not heretofore noticed, arose through the marriage of Elizabeth, widow of Samuel1 Packard, to John Washburn, the father of Samuel and Thomas.
Some years ago I discovered that the widow Elizabeth () Packard had married a Washburn before 27 October, 1694, and it was not difficult to show that this second husband must have been either John Washburn or his brother Philip.
