Star City Antique Radios and Test Equipment

About This Site

Objectives

This site is intended to provide information and images that may be of interest to those who collect and restore antique radios and test equipment.  Everything illustrated on this site comes from my personal collection.  None of the items are for sale.

The Title Graphic

Title Image

The title graphic is derived from the cover used by Radio Engineering magazine in the late 1920s.  Of all of the radio magazines that have been published this is my favorite.  It was a highly technical publication, appealing to radio design engineers, radio station engineers, and servicemen and enthusiasts with a strong technical background.

The Background Graphic

NRSA Logo

The background graphic is the logo of the National Radio Service Men's Association.  This organization was announced in the June, 1930 issue of Radio-Craft.  I suspect that it grew out of editor Hugo Gernsback's attempt to compile an international list of qualified radio service men.  The members of the original board of directors were L. M. Cockaday, David Grimes, John F. Rider, Hugo Gernsback, Sidney Gernsback and I. S. Manheimer.  The name was later changed to the Official Radio Service Men's Association.
