Vintage Instruments In Action
|
Some of my vintage instruments see occasional use in the field in my work as a radio engineer. I recently repaired an antenna tuning unit at a directional AM radio station, and the photo shows the equipment that I used to measure and pre-adjust some replacement inductors.
At the left is a General Radio Type 1606-A RF Impedance Bridge, and next to it the inductor under test. To the right of the inductor is the General Radio Type 1330-A Bridge Oscillator used to excite the bridge. On top of the 1330-A is a Service Instruments Model 11A Rider Chanalyst - its RF-IF channel is being used as a tuned bridge detector. On top of that is the Sencore Model FC45 Frequency Counter used to measure the frequency of the 1330-A.
